There are a lot of factors to be considered when determining the price of a gazebo. The smallest Gazebo price I’ve seen was $250 for a very basic one. But some people spend as much as $2,000 on big Gazebo projects plus the benches, lighting and decorations.

It’s really just a matter of personal taste. If you’re fixated on a price, chances are you might be disappointed because you won’t be getting the Gazebo you’ve dreamed of. My approach is to discover what I truly want, and then, if I can’t afford it, save!

I’ve never liked making compromises based on the price. If I let prices determine what I get, I will settle for something cheap and in the end won’t be happy with it.

Now, that doesn’t mean cheap is necessarily bad.

I’m also not saying to buy the best and most expensive one out there.

My point is that you buying something like a Gazebo based on price will lead to disappointment instead of happiness.

So, here are 3 guidelines to help you get a feel for a fair Gazebo price:

#1 Wood Or Vinyl

The biggest determinant of the price is, of course, the material used. Most people tend to buy wood for their Gazebos, as it’s a little less pricy. Keep in mind though, that wood doesn’t last as long if you don’t treat it correctly.

Personally, wood is my favorite also. It gives off a romantic glow and if you treat it right and care for the Gazebo, it will there for a long time.

#2 Custom Build or DIY

If you have the cash, you can have a designer custom build the Gazebo for you. But this can get very expensive.

If you don’t want to spend as much, I recommend buying either a Gazebo kit or some decent Gazebo plans and build it yourself – It’s not that hard.

#3 Roofing

Usually, the roofing is pretty similar to that on the roof of your home. The materials aren’t very expensive and can be found everywhere.

If you’re using a professional designer, you can go with something fancy like glass.

First, how much shade do you want? Generally, the more shade you want, the more wood you will need.

Next, what’s the general purpose of the gazebo? Do you want to use it more often or just on special occasions? If you don’t want to use it too often, a gazebo is a great place for more sensitive plants during winter, for example.

Then there are a lot of other things you have to consider, such as roofing, enclosing against bug infestations and so on.
